January 22, 2015 Ice Climbing Report (Thanks Mauro)

CROWDS WARNING UPDATE: The Boealps Group is postponing this weekend’s planned trip, due to very warm weather forecast (above 0ºC all weekend, warming to as high as +12ºC in Cache Creek/ +9ºC in Lillooet, by Monday). Postponed out to February.

The crowds warning for the BCMC group still stands, at this point. The Tube on Saturday (Jan 24) and Rambles Right on Sunday (Jan 25).

Highway 99 South – Duffey Lake Road

Lauren and I (Mauro) headed up to Rambles for the first time on Tuesday, Jan 20. We came up to Rambles Center, and it looked a bit wet, but in good condition. We climbed it in a couple pitches to the top. We scoped out some areas higher up (Rambles Center – Top Tier), but they looked thin in places and still forming, so we left them alone. Quite a bit warmer at the upper tier; seemed like there was a temperature inversion here. We had the whole place to ourselves, and had a good time.

On the way out, we looked at Shreddie from the road, looked pretty similar to the post from a few days ago.
