November 30, 2014 Ice Climbing Report (Thanks Bruce & Cole)

Highway 99 South – Squamish

The usual dribs and drabs on the Chief and surrounding crags….. nothing climbable or continuous. Nothing “in” so to speak.

The exception might be A Scottish Tale which appears to be climbable in terms of mass or thickness, but likely wet and not fully formed. Give it a day or two.

Kelowna East Side

Deeper Creek (see New Climbs Update):
After the warm weather on Thursday (Nov 27) most of the ice that had built up had fallen down. The cold weather forecasted for the weekend has made it climbable, just don’t expect to get any pro in, at this time. I (Cole) went up on Saturday (Nov 29). Pitch 1 went well, and pitch 2 and 3 look like great thin ice climbing. However… the pool after the first pitch is not even close to being frozen enough to support body weight. I tried to get around it and fell in… twice. Cold weather is forecasted for the next few days. I imagine it will be all good by then.
