March 3, 2012 Ice Climbing Report (Thanks Chris)

Highway 99 South – Duffey Lake Road

Climbed Carl’s Berg yesterday in clear conditions -2 to +2 degrees C. Very little running water (left of centre line), very little new snow and ice is in as good of condition as it gets. Well featured and feels grade 4+ right now.

Birken/Darcy ice is close to finished.
Shreddie pretty much gone.
Rambles looking fine from the road.

Keep your heads up on the alpine ice routes, as we’re slowing coming out of a *big avalanche cycle* with more snow and wind through Saturday and freezing levels 1600m on Sunday.
