December 23, 2011 (Thanks Ken!)

Highway 40 – Bridge River Canyon

Shawn, Megan, and myself (Ken) got a late start on Nite N’ Gale on Thursday. The climb itself was great once you got by the first step on the approach – which was sporty and soggy. Once past that, we continued up on concrete-like snow and avalanche debris to the base of the climb. The climb had many available lines and varied in ice conditions from extremely brittle to very wet. We managed to do the climb in 2 full 60m pitches to reach the top and rapped out in the dark.

Note: temperature are not looking favorable this weekend for that approach pitch to get any better.
